Stressed out police officer Shane Cooper (Ryan Kwanten) relocates to the dusty farming village of Red Hill with his pregnant wife, Alice, to start a family. But when news of a prison break sends the local law enforcement officers into a panic, Shane’s first day on duty rapidly turns into a nightmare.
Jimmy Conway, who is a convicted murderer serving life imprisonment, busts out of jail and heads to the sleepy settlement seeking bloody revenge. Caught in the middle of the terrifying confrontation, Shane is forced to take the law into his own hands in order to survive.

A taut thriller which unfolds over the course of a single day and night, and told with explosive action and chilling violence, Red Hill is a modern-day western played out against the extraordinary landscapes of high-country Australia.

You may have seen Kwanten in the role of Jason Stackhouse of the HBO television series True Blood based on Charlaine Harris’ Southern Vampire Mysteries. Kwanten has also earned one of the lead roles in the Joe Lynch Horror film The Knights of Badassdom and the voice for Kludd in Zack Snyder’s Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole.

Looks like masterful direction by Patrick Hughes, Red Hill is a modern day western with Aussie blood running hot with lots of grit and dirt. The movie will be released in the states by November with the Aussie release in December.
