Fortunately, there are many campus-based and online colleges that offer certificate programs, which can enable students to boost their resume quickly. For instance, the University of North Carolina at Greensboro recently announced the launch of a business conflict management certificate, which can be earned through 12 hours of study. School officials say that this course of study is intended for a wide range of busy students, including MBA candidates, supervisors, human resource professionals, safety managers and displaced workers. The curriculum will cover a variety of topics, such as conflict in the workplace, crisis management, workplace violence prevention and intervention, managers’ roles in conflict management, policy and procedure design as well as threat assessment strategies. Similar programs could lead graduates into a lucrative career field, as the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the demand for human resources, training and labor relations specialists is expected to increase by 24 percent over the next eight years.
