The program is designed to help working professionals update their credentials, which may give them the opportunity to advance in their career. Officials said that the degree program will help teach students how to plan, coordinate, direct research and facilitate computer-related activities of a company. They added that the bachelors in information systems security degree program and the masters in computer science prepare enrollees for the new age in technology. “We give students an enterprise perspective which becomes more and more important as professionals move up the ladder to become the most sought-after IT professionals on the job market,” said Danette Lance, dean of the school. The school also offers electives in information management, security, geographic information systems and web design and development. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that job opportunities in the computer and information system management field is expected to increase by 17 percent by 2018.
