SW Pro by Stephen CummingsStepping up its commitment to continuing education, the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) has chosen InReach Healthcare to help them bring continuing education online through webcasts, webinars, telephone seminars and podcasts. Participating NASW chapters also provide a broad selection of courses that cover topic areas relevant to social work professionals. All programming offered through the NASW online programs is accredited to help members meet mandatory continuing education requirements. InReach is a leading provider of online continuing education and has been helping organizations bring continuing professional education online for more than a decade.

“We are pleased with our partnership with the InReach Continuing Education Management System,” said Dr. Elizabeth J. Clark, Executive Director of the National Association of Social Workers. “The platform is accessible for all social work professionals, who may not otherwise have access to a varied catalogue of high-quality continuing education courses presented by experts in diverse fields of practice. Continuing education is a key element for social workers who are ethically required to be aware of current evidence-based best practices. The ongoing increase in knowledge and skill enhancement allows professional social workers to better serve their clients and communities.”

NASW chapters began launching online continuing education programs in late 2010 after building significant libraries of content, including content from peer chapters and professional content developers through the InReach Sharing Network. In the short time frame since the inception of the program, they have achieved impressive results, including the delivery of hundreds of online programs that cover subjects such as The Impact of Autism on Individuals and Families, Is ADD Really a Deficit Disorder?, and Social Work Ethics. In order to serve members across the social work discipline and offer courses given by noted subject matter experts, NASW chapters can access and exchange courses using the InReach Sharing Network, a unique course library that allows chapters to add quality programming to their online catalogs at the touch of a button.

Social workers can browse online courses on the NASW national site and on participating state chapter websites. InReach-enabled NASW courses can be accessed from any location where Internet access is available, and both real-time and on-demand courses are available.

“We are very pleased that the InReach Continuing Education Management System was chosen by the National Association of Social Workers,” stated Dennis Leibl, InReach CEO. “By enabling easy access to accredited online courses, NASW is providing a major member benefit and reiterating its commitment to meeting the ongoing education needs of social workers.”
