April 7, 2011 | Ken, online education news | Leave a comment California Baptist University (CBU) has recently expanded accessibility to its Master of Public Administration degree program. The University’s Online and Professional Studies division now offers the MPA degree program with courses online or in a hybrid (combination ground and online) format. These new formats are designed to meet the needs of working traditional and non-traditional students who seek to advance their education and careers. Master of Public Administration Program Description CBU’s Master of Public Administration program consists of 36 units and prepares students for professional and leadership careers in public, private and non-profit agencies. Students can complete this degree program in as little as 16 months. The MPA program is uniquely interdisciplinary and balances core competencies that cover essential areas of finance, leadership, technology, public policy and political processes. Additionally, the MPA courses develop vital skills in critical thinking, decision making, team development and human resources management. MPA graduates come away from the program with a thorough grasp of the history and theory of public administration, as well as the ability to put those theories into practice to improve operations in the organizations they serve and shape. “Our MPA program is designed to produce leaders shaped by values that sustain character in times of crisis,” said Dr. Elaine Ahumada, CBU’s MPA Director. “We have produced distinguished graduates now playing lead roles in public and non-profit agency administration in both the local and surrounding communities. By offering the MPA in both an online and hybrid format, we can now reach an even broader audience wishing to pursue this public sector terminal degree.” Dr. Dirk Davis, CBU’s Online and Professional Studies Academic Dean, said “the MPA will help address the growing demand for public leaders well versed in our core value teaching of: Integrity, Accountability, Public Good, Honesty and Faith. We are excited to make this program available in an even more convenient format for the working professional.” Application Process CBU is now accepting applications for the program.
