You can check out more of these graduation quotes on graduationwidsom.com.   They are listed in random order but choose your favorite by leaving a comment. Feel free to express why it is your favorite. It will be interesting to see what the winner will be. If I get enough responses, I will do a separate post in honor of the winning quote. So please, vote your favorite! 5 Inspiring College Graduation Quotes By Ruth Westheimers of Trinity College University, May 16, 2004– “My favorite animal is a turtle. The reason is in order for the turtle to move, it has to stick its neck out. There are going to be times in your life when you are going to have to stick your neck out. There will be challenges and instead of hiding in a shell, you have to go out and meet them.” By Jerry Zucker of the University of Wisconsin, May 17, 2003- “It doesn’t matter that your dream came true if you spent your whole life sleeping.” By Suzan-Lori Parks of Mount Holyoke, May 27, 2001- “…believe that the sort of life you wish to live is, at this very moment, just waiting for you to summon it up. And when you wish for it, you begin moving toward it, and it, in turn, begins moving toward you.” By Anna Quindlen of Villanova University, June 23, 2000–“It is so easy to waste our lives: our days, our hours, our minutes. It is so easy to take for granted the color of the azaleas, the sheen of the limestone on Fifth Avenue, the color of our kid’s eyes, the way the melody in a symphony rises and falls and disappears and rises again. It is so easy to exist instead of live. “ By Steve Jobs of Stanford University, June 12, 2005- “Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.” Let me steer you away from the quotes for a brief moment. I think that after achieving a major goal, such as graduating college, life becomes so much more meaningful. We try to live our lives the way we think we should, but are we really doing what we are supposed to do? Is there a better path that we should be taking? Keep in mind there are no short cuts in life. You definitely can’t be lazy trying to accomplish something in life. Too many people try to take short cuts and end up failing. I have seen this happen with individuals going to college. Now that college is offering virtual programs, so many think they can slack off and do whatever they want.  I think that too many individuals are taking the “study in your pajamas” way too seriously. Of course I am only talking about a certain category of people. I don’t think that laziness applies to moms one bit. It just can’t, it’s impossible, unless you are a lazy mom, HA! The truth is you really have to work just as hard to maintain excellent grades in order to graduate from any college period. I think these above quotes should be a reminder and motivator for everything we strive for in life. Okay, so back to the quotes. What do you think? Some of these quotes are so very thought provoking that is for sure. I am torn between #4 and #5. Which one is your favorite? *Want to get your degree in your pajamas? Okay, so I am saying this lightly but don’t get too comfortable.
