June 7, 2011 | Brenda Clemons, online education | Leave a comment I made the decision to go back to school because I wanted more out of life. I was sick and tired of being on someone else’s merry go round. Day in and day out, I went to work and did the same dull routine. I was frustrated, unchallenged and unqualified for a well paying job. I was also tired of taking orders from someone else. I was tired of making big bucks for someone else and not seeing a penny of the profits in my low paying job. I knew that I needed a higher education. I was concerned because I didn’t know how I would pay for it and I knew that I did not have the time to spend on a campus. My first step was to figure out what I really wanted to do with my life. I knew I wanted to meet people. I knew that I wanted to go to concerts and movies, etc. I also knew that I was a good writer. The light bulb went off–I wanted to be a professional writer. I did research on which universities offered online degrees in writing. Why online education? I chose an online education for many reasons. With online education I do not have to go to classes on campus. This freed me up to chose the best school for me. Since my classes are online, my college of choice could be located 1000s of miles from me and it would not matter. My schedule is flexible. If I am overburdened by other things, I can skip studying for a few days or even a week. Having a flexible schedule also means that I can study whenever and wherever I want. I do most of my studying in my pajamas. The degree I earn carries the same weight as a degree earned on campus. The feedback from my teachers and professors is excellent, perhaps even better than on a campus since it is in the form of written communication. Education improves lifestyle Since I started working on my degree, my life has improved greatly. I am now my own boss. I make my own schedule. I work only when I want to. I chose to go into the field of entertainment/lifestyle writing. Now I get to go to concerts for free. The money I make is my own. I encourage anyone unhappy with their situation in life; to seriously consider an online education. Learn more about getting an online writing degree.
